Clinical Work & Expertise

David has worked in a range of mental health and physical health settings, including: inpatient acute psychiatric and psychiatric residential, acute medical health psychology, community mental health case management, and private practice as a registered clinical psychologist. David also spent eight years with Lifeline across counselling, supervision, and training roles. David is experienced in working psychotherapeutically in the areas of:

Complex adult mental health presentations
Schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder
Adjustment to physical/medical health issues
Persistent pain
Trauma and complex trauma
Mood and anxiety disorders
Phobias
Obsessions and/or compulsions
Grief and loss
Adult autism spectrum disorder
Psychological assessment and report writing

Service Offerings & Therapeutic Approach

Brief or ongoing psychological services to provide assistance around the functional impact of complex mental health presentations and comorbidities.
Assessment and training to improve understanding and to better manage behaviour that is unsafe or unhelpful and/or restricting participation in daily life.
Assessment and conceptualisation to assist clients and their support network to better understand and manage psychological and psychiatric underpinnings affecting functional capacity.
Cost-effective therapeutic and/or capacity-building support delivered sensitivity within an evidence-based framework that is trauma-informed, dynamic, and holistic.
Provision of comprehensive reports, where appropriate:
- to assist with plan reviews,
- and to clinically support NDIS decision-makers around client’s support and funding needs.
