Get to know David, clinical psychologist in Varsity Lakes.
Get to know David. David grew up in a military family and his early life was full of constant change, new homes, new schools, and new friends. David completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker and then worked for several years as a marine mechanic.
Since childhood David felt a strong desire to help people. David was in his thirties and a sole parent to three active boys when he seized the opportunity to work as a volunteer counsellor at Lifeline. The Lifeline experience inspired him to return to study psychology as a mature-aged student. David draws from decades of rich life experience.
David cherishes spending time in nature, reading, enjoying good coffee and a chat.
Mental health struggles are mostly invisible, and the visible parts are rarely consistent with the internal struggle.
I am humbled and privileged to accompany clients on a journey through private perceptions, memories, thoughts, beliefs, hopes, dreams, and fears while we work together on building understanding, resilience, and resourcefulness in the private storm of their internal lives.
